A Hacker News post drew more than 500 comments on 11 September 2026 over Claude being available only to adults, but Anthropic's terms have required users to be at least 18 since at least 2024; what exists is enforcement, in which flagged accounts are disabled until the user passes an age check through the vendor Yoti.
